Re-birth of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya
This Monday, a temple of Ram will open its doors in Ayodhya, a small town in North India about 400 miles from Delhi. Ayodhya is where Ram was born + than seven thousand years ago, as the son of the king Dasharath, of the Kosala Kingdom.
It has been archeologically proven that an ancient Ram temple existed in the spot of Ram's exact birthplace. But in the 16th century, Mughal invaders destroyed the temple by building a mosque on top. The situation took a long, long time, but was finally resolved in the Supreme Court of India with all the due experts' investigations, and justice triumphed, recovering the place to bring back Ram's birth-place sanctuary. The Mosque was also given a big territory to be rebuilt nearby.
This moment has been waited for 500 years and is one of the biggest occasions in the history of India and its ancient Sanatan Dharma heritage.
Prime Minister Modi with priests will do the opening ceremony. "I'm fortunate to witness this blessed moment," Modi said recently, "I've never been so emotional in my life."
